Bollywood's Best Friends

Each one of us, yes, even the lonely nerds, has had a best friend in their life sometime or the other.
And our B-town residents are also normal human beings, atleast in this aspect. Although it is much harder to find true friendship in the tinsel town, some have managed to hold on to their BFFs. Here’s the list.
1. Aishwarya Rai & Sanjay Leela Bhansali
This actress director duo has been the best of friends for the longest time. They have hit movies like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Devdas' and the critically acclaimed 'Guzaarish' to their credit. They are said to share a bond so strong that, when talking to each other, they don’t even notice others.
2. Kareena Kapoor & Amrita Arora
While two actresses can barely stand each other in this industry, these two share an intimate bond with each other. They are BFFs in the truest sense of the word. They have supported each other through heartbreaks, happiness, rough patches etc. Kudos to their friendship!
< 3. Karan Johar & Shahrukh Khan/b>
This friendship has remained rock solid since the time it ever began. They have never hidden their mutual love for each other and have worked in some of the greatest hits ever. There were rumors earlier that both were in a relationship but even that did not faze their friendship even a shade.
< 4. Gauri Khan & Suzanne Roshan/b>
They are credited with starting the first wives club in Bollywood. One of the main reasons they bond is that both of them know the pressures associated with being a star wife and thus become a shoulder to fall back on for each other. This duo has taken their friendship to another level by collaborating on the professional level.
5. Deepika Padukone & Shahana Goswami
This isn’t the most publicised or popular friendship but has been going on since a long time. They have remained friends since the beginning of their careers and do a plethora of activities together like scuba diving, hanging out etc. They don’t even shy away from showing their mutual love for each other on Twitter.

These tough guys have been friends for ages now. They share common passions like bodybuilding, helping newcomers etc. They also hosted 'Big Boss 5' and their camaraderie was for all to see.
< 7. Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar/b>
These friends own a production company together and are best friends in real life too. They have grown up together and have remained with each other through thick and thin. Both of them are known to direct & produce trendy and young films.
8. Juhi Chawla & Shah Rukh Khan
Juhi & Shah Rukh share a very warm friendship. Both have been friends since the early days of their careers. But their friendship hit a rough patch when they became partners in their production company. But after realising that business and personal life shouldn’t be mixed, they opted to keep their friendship intact and parted ways professionally, and now their bond is still going strong.
In today’s world when friends are few and strangers are many, it is important to keep the ones you cherish close and avoid misunderstandings. This is a fact that our stars have also realised.

Bollywood Khans and their Hindu wifes

From a rich girl marrying a poor boy to the modern eras’ Ishaqzaade’ who are ready to die in each others arms rather than getting separated in the name of religion, these love sagas are endless. Here's a look at the real life ‘Ishaqzaade’ of Bollywood, who married outside their religion and are living happily ever after.

1. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Chhibber.....Nobody comes close to our King Khan when it comes to his real life romance with wife Gauri. The actor won Gauri’s heart, but just like a typical 90s masala film had the whole family ‘brigade‘of Gauri, against their marriage. But at last, this Dilwala took the Dulhaniya away and are now a blissfully married couple.
2. Irrfan Khan and Sutapa Sikdar.....Parent of two, Irfan and Sutapa have been married for more than a decade now. Their love story began in Delhi during their days in NSD (National School of Drama).
3. Fardeen Khan and Natasha Madhvani.....Once a heartthrob of many girls, Fardeen Khan married his childhood love Natasha Madhvani in a typical grand ‘Khan’ style. Natasha is daughter of yesteryear actress Mumtaz and Fardeen, as all know, is a son of late veteran actor Firoz Khan. This marriage has a ‘Picture Perfect’ plot of how children of onscreen lovers (Mumtaz-Firoz) fall in love with each other in real life.
4. Zayed Khan and Malaika Parekh.....Moving on the footsteps of his cousin Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, also married his high school love Malaika. Zayed was more than happy to say ‘Mai Hoon Na’ to Malika’s parents, when they began looking for a guy for her.
5. Sohail Khan and Seema Sachdev.....A Muslim guy meets a Hindu Girl, but their families refuse to this marriage. What Next? Yes, straight out of a Hindi film, they elope! This is exactly what Sohail did; he eloped with his love Seema apparently on the day when his directorial debut ‘Pyaar Kiya to Darna’ starring his brother Salman Khan got released.
6. Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora.....Unlike Sohail, Arbaaz did not elope with Malaika, rather, like an obedient son-in-law agreed to Malaika's mom and had a Church wedding with his girl.
7. Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor.....I know I get no eyebrows up for mentioning this one. This Bollywood Shaadi was like a National Issue in our country about which everybody knows, all thanks to Media! So, not a word more on this Couple, Let’s move forward.
8.Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao .....Love for Cinema is what brought Mr. Perfectionist close to his wife Kiran Rao and his decision of 'second' marriage seems to be getting ‘Perfect’ results for this couple.
9. Imran Khan and Avantika Malik..... They lived together in Los Angeles (when Imran was taking formal acting training), they had known each other for 10 long years and since then nothing has changed between the two of them. Oh yes, one thing they are now happily married.

Top 10 alcohol consuming countries in the world

Citizens of the post-Soviet Republic of Moldovaare the biggest guzzlers of alcohol, gulping exactly 18.22 liters per person every year. They drink nearly three times the global average of 6.1 litres per person per year. The country is a major wine producer, with many people drinking cheap homemade wine, vodka and other spirits and the Moldovan intake was made up roughly equally of wine, spirits and beer.
The people from Czech Republic are next with a consumption of 16.45 litres per person every year. Two months back, however, the country enforced a ban on sales of hard liquor, as deaths and injuries from methanol-laced bootleg alcohol rose. Around 20 people died and 36 people were in critical condition since the outbreak. The country consumes more beer (around 8.5L) than any other alcoholic beverage.
Apparently, drinking alcohol is engrained in Hungary's working culture. In eastern Hungary, a rural people often have a shot of “palinka,'' a spirit made of fruits, for breakfast and make a living growing and distilling plums and peaches for the drink. Hungarians consume 16.27 litres per person every year and it is roughly an even mix of beer, wine and spirits.
With the country synonymous with Vodka, it’s no surprise that Russia emerges in the top 5. Russians consume 15.76 litres per person every year. Drinking as a part of Russian culture has deep roots, dating back to at least the tenth century AD and by 1860, vodka, the national drink, was the source of 40 percent of the government's revenue. The country consumes more spirits (around 7L) than wine (0.10L), notably.
Russia’s neighbour to the east, Ukraine rounds off the top 5 with a consumption of 15.60 litres per person per year. Illegal production of alcohol is a cause for worry in the country with 35 percent of the vodka sold in the country being produced illegally. In 2011, 36,680 poisoning cases were registered in Ukraine, of which 5,300 resulted in fatalities. The country consumes spirits (around 5L) more than any other alcoholic beverage.
Estonians are said to be true beer lovers as the country’s alcoholic consumption is 15.57 litres per person per year. The country has seen an increase in spirits (around 9L) consumption than beer (around 5L), recently. However, local producers claim that the most significant problem within alcoholic drinks in Estonia is increasing input prices, which are resulting in declining profits and reducing the number of investment opportunities.
Andorra seems like a drinker’s paradise since the country has no sales tax and alcohol products are probably the cheapest in Europe. The country consumes 15.48 litres of alcohol per person every year and more wine (around 6L) than beer or spirits. The most popular drinks are Orxata, Granizado, Acqua D'Or.
Reportedly, beer in Romania often costs less than the bottled water at restaurants and bars. People consume 15.30 litres of alcohol every year and it is no surprise that beer is consumed the most (around 4L) with spirits catching up (also around 4L). It is also considered okay to have a drink during the work day or for business men and politicians to keep bottles of alcohol in their desks!
The legal drinking age in Slovenia is 18 but it is illegal to sell or offer alcohol of any kind to minors. It is also illegal to sell alcohol in stores from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and 10 a.m. in bars and restaurants. The law also prohibits serving alcohol to obviously intoxicated customers as well as less than 1 hour before and during sport events. Slovenians consume 15.19 litres of alcohol every year and more wine (around 5L) and beer (around 4L) than spirits
Belarus, the last country in the top ten consumes 15.13 litres per person every year and spirits (around 4L) is the most preferred. Like all other alcohol-loving countries, a bottle of vodka costs less than a packet of orange juice, it is reported. However, alcohol abuse is widespread and is a problem to worry about.

India's top six performance bikes

Here are the top six motorcycles in India that offer sheer performance yet fit into your budget.
1
The KTM Duke 200 came and created a buzz. With its distinctive bold looks and exposed body parts, the Duke is a very aggressive looking motorcycle. The machine continues its aggression with its power delivery with the 200cc single cylinder motor producing 25 BHP and 19.2 Nm.
The instrument cluster displays insane amount of data and with a price Rs. 1.32 lakhs (Mumbai), the Duke is very much value for money.
2
The bike that really caused storms was the Honda CBR250R. A Honda motorcycle, 250cc 4-valve, liquid-cooled motor (25 BHP, 23 Nm) and an awesome Rs. 1.64 lakh (Mumbai) pricing was enough to create a huge queue outside Honda showrooms.
Factor in the fantastic C-ABS braking system and the sub 10 seconds 100 km/h timing and the CBR250R instantly looks like a machine you simply can't miss.
3
Yamaha R15 Version 2.0 is one of the most popular bikes amongst the youth of our country. The R15 is a mini fusion of the R1 and R6 and looks absolutely stunning.
The Deltabox frame and R-series 150cc motor ensure that the R15 is a track tool which none can match. Producing 17 PS and 15 Nm, the R15 is most happy at high revvs. Price - Rs. 1.20 lakh (Mumbai).
4
Royal Enfield's Classic 500 is a glimpse of the past but with modern mechanicals. The Classic flexes its retro styling with a modern 500cc, UCE, FI engine which produces 27.2 BHP and 41.3 Nm.
Power delivery is addictive and the Classic is stable all the way up to its top speed of 130 kmph. What is most interesting though is the colours on this cruiser, which includes chrome as well as desert storm shades.
5
The Karizma has been one of the most popular motorcycles in India. The recent ZMR avatar features crucial updates like full fairing, rear disc brakes, fuel injection, digital speedometer, etc. The ZMR has not really caught up on sales much but is a fantastic machine for long distance touring.
Power comes in from a 223cc engine which produces 17.6 BHP and 18.35 Nm. Price - Rs. 1.07 lakhs (Mumbai).
6
The once upon a time fastest Indian motorcycle, the Bajaj Pulsar 220 offers 20.8 BHP and 19.12 Nm. The Pulsar 220 is sheer value for money at Rs. 88,000/- (Mumbai), which makes it so popular among the youth.
With the Pulsar 200 NS coming soon, the Pulsar could well go numero uno in the top 6 performance motorcycle list.
